The quinta is a 100 year old property set in a peaceful and secluded valley in the foothills of the Serra de Caldeirao. It covers 2 hectares and has a mixture of mature native trees such as ancient olives, carobs and holm oaks typical of the area providing many shady areas to unwind in. With no light pollution in the area, at night you can stargaze and enjoy the galaxy and the shooting stars.

The large 1500m lake is the unique feature of Sitio do Lago – clean and clear and perfect to swim, kayak or just float around in.

In summer you can see 3 different types of dragonfly and all year round there is a chorus of frogs.

At dusk,  birds and bats can be seen catching insects and all through the day there are passing visitors flying in to have a drink.

There is a large 2 level wooden deck topped with a shady pergola to provide plenty of space to relax next to the water or to reconnect and recharge with yoga or meditation. Time to breathe in the fresh countryside air and relax into the silence and tranquillity of nature.

Along the front of the building is a 30 metre covered wooden deck providing the perfect place to dine in the shade while enjoying the views across the valley. There are yoga mats and equipment in a basket here as well to use during your stay.

The quinta is set in mature gardens with native plants. There are many quiet seating areas to relax in with a book or to just enjoy the peaceful  atmosphere.

For more energetic guests there is a shady pergola with a full sized table tennis table, and also other sport equipment for guests to use such as football goals, swing ball and boule.
