Situated in a Natura 2000 area, the Quinta is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Spring and early summer sees the arrival of myriad wild flowers, including rare orchids such as the Bee Orchid and the “Naked Man” Orchid.
During the height of the summer the lake provides drinking water to various birds, Swallows, Golden Orioles, & the areas famous Bee Eater. In the winter months the lake is visited by migrating Great Egrets, who use the lake as a meeting spot before continuing their long journey.
